There have been a couple of commercials concerning the lies told by President Obama.  In the commercials they show the early days of the 2008 campaign when Democrats were still trying to choose between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.  I confess I was one of those Democrats trying to make that choice.  According to the commercials, Ms. Clinton pointed out several times when Obama lied in his ads and speeches against her.  Another commercial stated how Obama has been lying about Mitt Romney and that this was verified in a Washington Post column. 

This commercial started me thinking about whether there were other lies President Obama has told.  It was a simple matter to do a search.  The results led me to one of my favorite truth about urban legends website,  http://www.snopes.com.  Their article can be read at http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/50lies.asp

Granted, the Snopes article is from 2008, but the quantity of lies is surprising.  How many Presidents have told 50 verifiable lies about their own lives?  One of the lies he has told which greatly concerns me is his statements about being a Christian.  Here is what Snopes states:

"My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian."

LIAR, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews.  According to the New York Times:  "I am a strong believer of the Islamic faith," Ms. Obama, 85 [at the time of the interview], said in a recent interview in Kenya.  Not to mention, Christianity wouldn't allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.

"My Name Is African Swahili"

LIAR, your name is Arabic and "Baraka" (from which Barak came) means "blessed" in that language.  Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama.

"I Never Practiced Islam"

LIAR, you practiced it daily at school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept the faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office.

"My School In Indonesia Was Christian."

LIAR, you were registered as a Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book).

"I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion"

LIAR, you were quite content in high school to be Barry Obama, no mention of Kenya and no mention of a struggle to identify -- your classmates said you were just fine.

"An Ebony Article Moved Me To Run For Office"

LIAR, Ebony has yet to find the article you mention in your book.  It doesn't, and never did, exist.

"I Won't Run On A National Ticket In '08"

LIAR, here you are, despite saying, live on TV, that you would not have enough experience by then, and you are all about having experience first.

"I Am Tough On Terrorism"

LIAR, you missed the Iran Resolution vote on terrorism, and your food friend, Ali Abunimah supports the destruction of Israel.  You state you will open friendly communication with the leader of Iran who is attempting to develop nuclear weapons to destroy us, but refuse to speak to FOX news.  You are against provision of the Patriot Act which would allow wiretapping of the phones of suspected terrorist in the USA. 

I want to strongly recommend the Snopes article.  I have repeated only a few of the lies from the article.  There are a grand total of 50 lies reported in the article which President Obama told back when he was only Candidate Obama told prior to the 2008 election. 

Therefore, it should come as no surprise to anyone President Obama is now telling lies about Mitt Romney.  Of course, there is one lie which now has some truth to it.  The past four years have given him experience as a President of the United States.  The question is:  Do we want to give him another four years of experience?

I can only speak for myself, but I most definitely do not want another four years of an Obama Presidency.  I do not believe he has made good decisions for our country.  I believe the US is in a worse situation since President Obama took office.  I believe we need to replace President Obama with Mitt Romney because I believe he can make the positive changes our country needs.  What do you think?
