Okay, I have been busy with a project for my husband and with a writing project, so I haven't spent much time on this blog this month.  However, that does not mean I haven't received and kept all of the emails I have received from the Democratic National Party.  They have been busy.  I am going to post their emails, and then I will make another blog entry in which I will discuss my views about what they have said.  So, without further ado, below are their emails.

The first one is from Patrick Gaspard and his email includes a message he received from James Kvaal, who is the policy director for barackobama.org:

Donna --

I wanted to make sure you saw this: the Obama campaign has put together a tool that will show you just how much this election could cost you -- literally.

You can see how Mitt Romney and President Obama's tax plans would affect your wallet -- and see which candidate is fighting for the middle class.

Read the email from Obama for America's Policy Director James Kvaal below, then use the new tax calculator to see for yourself:

Thanks,

Patrick

Subject: Try out our new tax calculator

Friend --

A lot of times policy debates on the campaign trail can be a bit confusing. This one isn't.

A new report released this week runs the numbers on Mitt Romney's tax plan. To pay for the tax cuts he'd give to millionaires like himself, he'd actually raise taxes on middle-class families with children by an average of more than $2,000.

We've put together a new tool that lets you see for yourself -- take a look at our tax calculator and find out how each candidate's tax plan would affect you:

Thanks,

James

The next email is also from Patrick Gaspard.  I can't help wondering if this man even reads the responses to his emails.  I know he doesn't read mine because he still thinks I want to be part of the Democratic Party.  Maybe that's how the Democrats think they can win -- just pretend everyone is a Democrat and don't accept that anyone would leave the party.  I am really going to be upset if this allows them to win!

Democrats
Donna --

The Romney camp just announced that they raised $101 million in July, and while they beat the $75 million we raised, I want to be the first to tell you:

Democrats came through, and we are starting to close the fundraising gap between us and them.

It's a tough fight -- but $5 and $10 at a time, we are continuing to prove that grassroots donations from everyday folks can go toe to toe with Romney's deep-pocketed, corporate donors any day, any time.

I couldn't be prouder of what we've done. But we're not there yet -- because we did, in fact, get beat again.

I want every single Democrat out there to be able to say at the end of this election that we did everything we could to help re-elect President Obama and help Democrats win.

It starts with you -- right now.

Please make a donation of $5 or whatever you can give to help keep closing the gap between us and them:

https://my.democrats.org/July-Numbers

We can do this.

Thanks,

Patrick
