I finally found some time today for this blog.  I am amazed by how prolific the DNC is when it comes to sending emails.  Even though they apparently do not read the responses to their messages, they still keep sending them.  Perhaps the DNC hopes if they bombard citizens with enough emails and requests for donations for as little as $3 per person, they hope to use the same grassroots mobilization for votes which led to President Obama's election in 2008?  The scarey thing is it did work in 2008, and I really do not want to see it happen again.

I believe this week Republicans have one huge problem, and it's name is Representative Akin.  If he wants to see a Republican in the Oval Office, then Todd Akin must remove himself from the ballots and fade away for the rest of the year.  All by himself he changed the tempo of this year's election and played into the Democrats secret wish -- an election based on social issues.  (Democrats know an election based upon job performance has problems for the President.)  I'm beginning to wonder if Akin is a secret Democrat because he could not have done more harm to the Republican Party if he had purposely planned to help the Democrats re-elect President Obama.

Mitt Romney was beginning to make great progress among undecided voters.  The polls were showing Romney and the President to be equal in popularity when the margin of error was considered.  As long as Republicans keep the focus on the economy, unemployment and the President's ridiculous health plan, then there will be Republicans will hold the two highest offices in the country.

What concerns me is the way Akin's remarks have changed the focus of the campaign.  We need to get voters to stay focused on American lifestyle and how much families are hurting because of economical and employment issues.  The budget was troublesome before Obama took office, but he succeeded in taking a bad situation and making it much worse.

Besides Akin's ill-spoken remarks this past weekend, the Republican Party leaders need to remember it is difficult to win the election against a sitting President.  The only way to do so is to keep the focus on what went wrong during the President's first four years.  Obama has provided so many problems during his presidency which means if Republicans can keep the focus on President's mistakes, then Mitt Romney will be President.

I was stunned by how quickly the DNC sent emails connecting Akin's hurtful remarks about "illegitimate rape" as the underlying thought for white Republican men.  It took them less time to use his remarks to change the focus of the campaign than it is taking Republican leaders to convince Akin to withdraw from his campaign.  Why hasn't the man resigned yet?

Republicans have a lot to offer Americans.  Democrats believe the way to solve economic and employment issues is to adopt more socialistic programs.  The best way to solve these problems is to get Americans working again.  The best way to create new jobs is to give those who own the companies and have the money tax incentives for creating more jobs.

My husband are on the low end of the middle class because he has been unemployed for so long.  In addition, we both have many health issues.  Despite our problems, I can see the big picture when it comes to tax incentives for the wealthy and the creation of new jobs.  We need Americans to go back to work, and if it takes additional tax deductions for the wealthy, then I am in favor of lower tax percentages for the wealthy.  Let's do all that is necessary to create new jobs and improve the economy.

As I see it, if we want the economy and employment to improve, then we need Mitt Romney to be the next President.  If we want him to be President of the United States, then we need to keep American voters focused on how poorly the current President has done on these two issues and the amount of money he wasted with his Obama Care.  Americans were beginning to see the light and the election had become a virtual tie.  Akin has taken the focus off the main reasons Obama cannot be re-elected, and we must bring the election conversation back to the issues which will lead to a Romney Presidency.
