Once again I opened my email today to discover another email from the DNC. They really do not want to give up, do they? LOL! If only they could be equally persistent about finding solutions to our nation's problems. If they had done so, I would not be leaving the party!

I wanted to make sure you saw DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz's latest email. Already, thousands of Democrats like you have given their input on how we should move forward in this election cycle.
We want to hear from you. Please take a few moments and read the email below, then give us your thoughts:

From: Debbie Wasserman Schultz
Subject: Take our quick survey
I need your advice.
We are entering a stage of this election year when critical decisions are made. And more likely than not, these decisions -- about the issues and races to focus on -- will determine who wins in November, from congressional elections to the presidential race.
How we move forward as Democrats is in your hands. This party belongs to you.
Please share your thoughts about this election and what you care about most.
It's on all of us to determine the future, hone our strengths, and identify areas for improvement.
Together, we're facing a big moment in American politics -- and the work we put in now will make or break our plans to take back the House, keep the Senate, and win another four years for President Obama.
I look forward to hearing from you:

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz
Chair
Democratic National Committee
Here is the response I gave to the DNC today, and just for emphasis I included this response when I answered the survey. I'm hoping since they are ignoring my messages, perhaps they will take heed of my words in the survey. Okay, here is my response:
I DO NOT WANT PRESIDENT OBAMA TO BE RE-ELECTED! Here are some of the reasons I will not be voting to re-elect the President or any Democrat seeking election:
1. I suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Multiple Auto-immune Syndrome (MAS) which means my auto-immune system is in overdrive. Therefore, my body is constantly at war with itself which results in the development of additional auto-immune related illnesses in an ongoing progression. So far I have developed MS, Auto-immune hepatitis, Crohn's Disease, Colitis, Asthma, Eczema, multiple food and medication allergies, and my doctors have told me this list will be ever increasing. Because of my health, I am on full disability and receive social security disability benefits. I wonder if anyone in the DNC, Nancy Pelosi and President Obama understand what it is like to be faced with the knowledge health problems already experienced since the age of 12 will continue to worsen and increase AND constantly listen to the suggestions to cut social security benefits? I cannot afford to lose any of my social security benefits.
2. My husband and I are about to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary. During the length of our marriage, he has been repeatedly laid-off as manufacturing jobs leave Davidson County and surrounding counties in North Carolina. The last lay-off has lasted more than three years because there are no jobs for which he is qualified. My husband is a veteran of the first Gulf War and also served in Columbia when the US military went after Noriega. When he left the Air Force he could not go to college because his mother was dying of cancer and his sister was about to become a single mother with no financial support from her son's father. My husband lovingly went to work and took care of these two women, but it meant he was unable to go to college during the ten year period in which veterans are allowed to use their education benefits. If he had been able to use those benefits and go to college, perhaps he would not have been left with a manufacturing career resulting in constant and eventually permanent lay-offs. He has been fortunate because state and federal unemployment benefits allowed us to receive an income, but we know he will soon reach the limit for those benefits.
3. During the 2008 campaigns I heard now President Obama and our own governor state if elected they would arrange for those who have been laid-off to attend a community college tuition free. This would have been a much needed solution for my husband and so many other Americans who cannot find employment in their past occupations. What was extremely disappointing and frustrating was how quickly President Obama and our governor almost immediately after taking office announced an inability to fulfill this campaign promise. How do Democrat leaders expect individuals like my husband who want to work but cannot find any jobs in their field expect to survive if they cannot be educated in a new field with employment opportunity? This situation was made worse when we were told if my husband decided to enter a community college (which would have required student loans, of course), he would immediately use his unemployment benefits. What sense does that make? Providing unemployed Americans, particularly veterans from both Gulf Wars, with a free community college education would have saved American tax money.
3. My husband's unemployment resulted in the loss of our home, as well as other difficulties. We found ourselves on the street and lost everything. In order to survive we have had to let go of our pride and accept food stamps. Do Democrat leaders even care about the emotional and physical turmoil this takes on an individual, couple or family? I am married to a man who has a very strong nurturing personality. It has been very stressful and heartbreaking to watch the effects of losing our home, our belonging and finally accepting food stamps have had on my husband.
4. The toil all of this has taken on my husband has affected his health. In October 2011 he began suffering grand mal and also minor seizures. His doctors have told us how unusual it is for one individual to suffer from both types of seizures. (I had a cousin who eventually died due to grand mal seizures; thus, I have extra anxiety about the seizures my husband is having.) Since my husband has been unemployed for so long he does not have health education, and the so-called Obama Care has made it virtually impossible for him to obtain health insurance and even more difficult for to obtain the health care he so desperately needs. Through trial and error doctors have tried multiple medications which did work in preventing his seizures; however, two weeks ago they put him on the drug, Vimpat, which actually allowed him to go a full week without any kind of seizure. This was the longest he has gone. Unfortunately, this drug costs more than $450 per month which is impossible on our budget. His doctor had some sample packs which fortunately were free, but he does not have enough sample packs for my husband's ongoing needs. None of our local pharmacies carry this drug because it is so expensive, but it is the first drug to appear to decrease his seizures, even though he did suffer a seizure while taking the drug. One seizure was a huge benefit since the week before he had to be rushed to the ER four days in a row because of grand mal seizures.
5. Since he did not have health insurance and is a veteran, my husband decided to go to the VA Hospital in a nearby town to see if he could obtain medical care. He was told they were so backed up with WWII, Korean, Vietnam and current Gulf War veterans that it might be a couple of a years before they could qualify him for the program. Too bad his seizures won't wait until he can receive medical care at a VA Hospital.
I hear a lot from President and Mrs. Obama, Vice President Biden and his wife and other Democrats about how we need to care for current veterans returning to society. What I have not heard was how Democrat leaders plan to care for the veterans from the first gulf war. Who is going to step up and find them employment, education, homes and medical care?
I have found particularly distasteful recent policies announced by President Obama and applauded by Nancy Pelosi and other Democrat politicians. The stances taken on same sex marriage and illegal immigrants were the last straw on my back as a Democrat. How can I support anyone who wants to make it easier for illegals to stay in our country when my husband has not been able to find a job in over three years despite his hard work to do so? Before I became so ill, I was a minister. I view marriage as an institution started by God. Every major religion also views marriage as having its start in the Deity. I do not believe same sex marriage should be allowed. I am, however, willing to accept a civil union which would provide same sex couples with all of the same benefits of married couple, but DO NOT CALL IT SAME SEX MARRIAGE!
I could continue for great length explaining why I am disappointed in Democrats; however, I will stop now. Hopefully, what I have written makes it abundantly clear just how disappointed I am in the party. I have stood firm for Democrats throughout my life. I did so despite family and friends telling me how wrong my political beliefs were. It greatly saddens me to realize I can no longer support Democrats running for office, and I definitely will NOT support, donate or vote for any Democrat this November.
I do not believe I am abandoning Democratic Party. I believe Democrats have left my husband and me, as well as others like us. I previously believed Democrats truly cared about Americans and wanted to find solutions to our country's problems, but I no longer believe this. What I do believe is President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats want to blame Republicans for every problem our country faces. I do not believe this to be the case. In fact, I believe President Obama, and most assuredly Nancy Pelosi have a canned response when they don't get their way, and that response is to say it's the fault of Republicans. I see Democrats doing more harm than good, and I see no solution but to quit the party and become a Republican.
I have written to the DNC multiple times in the last couple of weeks to explain I am leaving the party and have become a Republican. Unfortunately, the DNC does not read my messages and instead continues to email me and ask for my support, donations, volunteerism, completion of surveys and whatever. Please read my words carefully, "I AM NO LONGER A DEMOCRAT. I HAVE CHANGED PARTIES BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT PRESIDENT OBAMA RE-ELECTED. IN FACT I DO NOT WANT ANY DEMOCRAT ELECTED IN NOVEMBER. I HAVE SWITCHED PARTIES AND BECOME A REPUBLICAN!"
