Is it just me or do others find it odd the DNC wants me to read their messages and provide money, but no one in the DNC appears to be reading and comprehending my concerns about the party? Well, I suppose I should give Cheryl Green some credit. She may not have read my complete response to the DNC's regular messages, but she did understand my unhappiness with the Affordable Care Act. While Ms. Green and I will never be in agreement, at least she tried to respond to my concerns.
Okay, enough said. Here is the email I received from Vice President Biden today:
Donna --
Yesterday I shared an emotional moment with Barack in the Oval Office after he learned health reform had been upheld.
Barack Obama is a man who refused to give up. No matter how politically unpopular it was, he knew it was the right thing to do.
Tomorrow is the biggest fundraising deadline of this election so far. Romney and the Republicans may outraise us again -- you can bet they'll have a whole slew of special interests who want to see Romney make good on his promise to repeal Obamacare on Day One.
But they can't beat us if we pull together. Our grassroots movement is unstoppable when we put our minds to it.
Please donate $3 or more today, before the critical deadline:

Thanks,
Joe
How nice to think about President Obama and Vice President Biden sharing an emotional moment in the Oval Office. Of course, it would have been so much better had they shared an emotional moment after learning the Supreme Court had declared the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional. I guess I'll just have to wait for the momentous moment when President Romney and his Vice President share an emotional moment when the Affordable Care Act is gone forever!
Without further ado, here is my response to the Vice President:
Mr. Vice President,
Unlike you and the President, I was not happy with the Supreme Court's decision. I was hoping they would strike down Obama Care. I was sadly disappointed with the results. I am not forlorn; however, I am hoping and blogging in favor of Mitt Romney winning the election in November. Do not ask me to provide a donation to the DNC for the re-election of President Obama and you.
I have changed party affiliation. Due to my frustration and disappointment with the Democrats, I have made a decision which I never expected to make. After thirty-some years supporting Democrats, I have chosen to change my party affiliation. I have become a Republican.
By the way, you, President Obama, and members of the Democratic National Party would know this had any of you bothered to read and comprehend the messages I have sent in response to each message I received from you. I have taken the time to read each and every message originating from the DNC and to write what I believe have been well articulated responses for each email. Apparently, you, President Obama or any member of the DNC with the exception of Cheryl Green cannot be bothered to read and comprehend my responses to your messages. (I should note Ms. Green only responded to me on the issue of the so-called Affordable Care Act, and I found no common ground in our views about Obama Care.)
The lack of response from Democrats to any of my messages I find to be troubling. I am a voting American citizen who voted a straight Democratic ticket in 2008 which means I voted for you and President Obama. I realize all of you are very busy with the tasks of increasing the American debt and blaming Republicans and Independents for every problem the country has while at the same time claiming you are doing your best for the American people, but surely there is someone in the DNC who could read and reply to the issues I rasised?
I am receiving regular emails requesting a donation of three dollars or more for the Democratic Party. I am appalled by this request. First, Democrats raise the national debt at astronomical amounts, and then you want me to donate to the party? What magical brew are you drinking, Mr. Vice President?
I know I have stated these facts in all of my previous messages, but please allow me to state them one more time for your personal benefit, and I will try to be as brief as possible.
Lay-offs and Unemployment by My Husband
Over the last ten years my husband has been laid off from one manufacturing job after another as local companies moved overseas. Then three years there simply were no more jobs to be had. Fortunately, he has been able to collect unemployment benefits, but we know those are about to end.
My Chronic Health Problems and Disability
In 1998 after suffering from pain and other symptoms since I was twelve, at the age of 42 I was finally diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I applied for social security and was denied. I then turned to local and state politicians to help me, but no one did so. Finally, I contacted my state senator who represented the Republican Party, and he immediately scheduled a hearing with a judge for me and explained to the judge why I should receive social security disability benefits. The judge immediately granted me the benefits and even backtracked them to an earlier date.
Since 1998, I have been diagnosed with Multiple Auto-immune Syndrome (MAS). This is a fancy name to say my body's own auto-immune system is attacking various organs and other systems in my body. So far MAS is responsible for my MS, Auto-immune Hepatitis, Asthma, Crohn's Disease, Chronic Colitis, Eczema, Arthritis and an ever increasing number of food and drug allergies. I am told to expect additional auto-immune diseases to be diagnosed in the future.
For the initial years in which President Obama and you have been in office, I have had to watch as the two of you did nothing to increase social security benefits. The two of you did not even attempt to get a cost of living increase until this year. Meanwhile I watched as one national politician after another voted in favor of huge salary increases for themselves.
The Affordable Care Act
I did not want to see this act passed. I was against it. If you, the President, Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats wanted to make health care more affordable, then pass an act which would give all Americans the same health care coverage all of you enjoy. The President, Vice President and members of Congress enjoy a health plan for life which other Americans can only dream of having. If you had passed an act giving us a plan identical to the one you now enjoy and will continue to enjoy for the rest of you life, then I would have been able to support your health care plan for the American people.
Treatment of Veterans & My Husband Specifically
I am and always will be grateful to the men and women like my father, uncles and husband who willing and dutifully chose to serve in the military. Our country owes them a huge debt, particularly to those who served during wartime. I want our service people to receive the very best care and assistance possible. I believe our veterans should be the first people chosen when employment opportunities become available.
My husband is an Air Force Veteran who served during the first gulf war and also in Columbia when our military sought to capture Noriega and bring him to trial. In October 2011 my husband began to suffer grand mal and smaller seizures. Two weeks ago he suffered grand mal seizures four days in a row. Since he does not have health insurance due to being laid off for more than three years straight, he decided to go to the VA Hospital. He was told the hospital was backed up with WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War and the current War on Terrorism. He was told it would be a couple of years before they could begin to review his case and treat him. In other words, veterans of the first gulf war and Columbia are unable to receive care from the VA even though they, too, dutifully served their country and risked their lives.
When my husband finished his service, he wanted to use his military benefits to obtain a college education which would have allowed him to have a career in something other than manufacturing. Unfortunately, his mother was dying and other family needs prevented him from using those benefits. I do not understand why there is a time limit for our military to make use of the education benefits. I believe we owe them more.
Loss of Our Home
Due to my husband's many lay-offs and, especially, this last lengthy one, we lost our home and all of belongings. For the past three years we have been living in an inexpensive motel. Sadly, we are not the only ones.
There are several families with young children who also live in this motel. Each day from late August to early June I watch the school bus make its regular stop in the motel parking lot. Then I see elementary school children climb the steps of the bus for their ride to school.
My husband and I, like the fathers and mothers of those children, have done the math. A room with queen or king size beg, a sleeper sofa, cable television, dorm refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and weekly clean sheets and towels is much less expensive than paying for these same items individually for an apartment. Without employment opportunities what are the citizens of our county which had previously been one of the country's leading manufacturing sites to do? There is no other choice.
Childhood Hunger
I was shocked to learn on our local news how our area rated number one in childhood hunger. I was appalled to hear this. I do not care how bad the economy is. No American child should go hungry!
How can the United States be one of the first nations provide aide to other countries whenever disaster strikes while our own children go hungry? Why aren't Democrats speaking about childhood hunger in our own country? How can any politician of any party ask for money for any program which does not address the issue of childhood hunger?
Inferior Behavior of Democrats
No, I am not writing about sexual misconduct of Democrats although there has been ample examples. I am referring to President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and almost every other Democrat complain it is the Republican who are at fault for whatever complaint American citizens have. I keep saying the result is Democrats sound like a child tattling on the behavior of others while they are behaving in the same way, or perhaps they merely sound like the cranky child who says, "Since you won't play what I want to play, I'm going to pack up my toys and go home." Either way, the result is the same. Democrats look foolish and stupid.
Another example of bad behavior by Democrats is exemplified by Nancy Pelosi and her husband. Most Americans found their fiances depleted or in dire jeopardy because of the failing stock market. However, that was not the case for Ms. Pelosi, who saw the value of her stock rise.
I'm sure citizens around the country would love to know who was her broker. Oh, wait, it was the good advice of her stock broker that gave her such a wonderful return on her investment. No, she was able to benefit from confidential information given to her during a congressional meeting. In essence, she found a way to benefit legally from insider training. Anyone who wasn't a member of congress and behaved in this way would find themselves facing heavy fines and possibly imprisonment.
Mr. Vice President, nothing would have made me happier than to remain with the Democratic Party. I spent thirty plus years as a Democrat. It was not an easy decision to change parties.
In this message I explained personal reasons why I have changed political parties, but there is one more reason. I love the United States of American, and I cannot allow anyone to hurt my country. Yet, I have stood by and watched as Democrats, including President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and most of the Democrats serving in the Senate and House of Representatives.
In conclusion if I can find three dollars to spare, I won't give it to the DNC. I do not want President Obama to be re-elected in November 2008. I am hoping and praying, as well as blogging, against his re-election.
